Check out our 5 thoughts of the War for the Planet of the Apes final Trailer:

5. Watch The Trailer Here!

4. Give Serkis His Oscar Already!

The Planet of the Apes reboot series wouldn’t have gone anywhere it wasn’t for the Lord of the Rings actor. In his non-CGI roles, Serkis still gives an amazing performance like in Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige. I can’t wait to see Woody Harrelson give it his all next to Serkis!

3. Gun-Toting primates!

In one of the standout moments from the trailer, Caesar walks towards the camera, cocking his shotgun. He means all kinds of business now!

2. Heart of Darkness

Did you spot those little easter eggs that pay homage to previous war movies? The human soldiers march in unison across the forest, into the heart of darkness. One of the soldiers has a helmet that says “Monkey-Killer.”

1. The Batman!

The director of Let Me In has signed on direct Ben Affleck in the latest re-imagination of the caped crusader movies. Not only does Matt Reeves deliver on the epic scope of special effects and action, he captures the raw and dramatic emotion on camera. War for the Planet of the Apes is an awesome prelude of what’s to come for upcoming Batman franchise.

War for the Planet of the Apes arrives in theaters July 14th.
