Before her sophomore album, Melodrama, arrives in stores, Lorde strikes a gorgeous pose on the stunning Elle Magazine cover. Dressed like a knockout, the 20-year-old singer dishes on her celebrity status and being creative in the “Women in Music” issue.
According to Elle, the stunning cover was photographed by Mark Seliger. The popular singer/songwriter was styled by Samira Nasr. The cover story by Lizzy Goodman examines how the pop savior hopes her sophomore effort will finally put all her one-album-wonder haters and doubters to rest.

5. What Is She Wearing!?!
On the cover, the New Zealand native is dressed in a sparkling blue jumpsuit and wearing black pumps by Dior. In the second photo, she can also be seen wearing a tight tank and leggings by Gucci. Showing off her fit and slender body, the songwriter has on blue shorts by Grlfrnd Denim.
4. On Being A Celebrity
Lorde confesses to the fashion magazine, ”New Zealand. That’s why I am so passionate about going home. Most of my friends are people I knew before I was famous. I’m very thankful that I never feel like the smartest person in the room, or the coolest person in the room, or the funniest. When I’m there, I’m just there. People forget that I’ve done anything. They say, ‘Ella’s this weird old dowager with a nice house.’”

2. On Her Creative Process
The cover girl adds, ”Everyone’s making music in L.A. now—which is great if you aren’t the shyest, most introverted nerd. I found it a little too social. I made my first record in New Zealand with very little discourse—I was just my own unit. In L.A., it’s very, ‘Oh, what project are you working on?’ I was like, ‘I need to be out of this.’”
