The Plot #4, Vault

From Vault Comics’ Nightfall line, The Plot #4 delivers so much heart and scares as  a pulse-pounding ghost story about the pains of adulthood and family. A creative twist on the haunted house genre, The Plot has been named as one of the best comics to have come out of 2019.

The cold, ashen hands of what once was reach into the now… and give a little push.

Here are 5 reasons why you should read The Plot #4:

5) What Happened Before!

Vault Comics, Holiday
Vault Comics

Chase Blaine was never close to his estranged brother and sister-in-law. Murder brings the rest of the family together when Chase becomes the legal guardian to McKenzie and Zach. While moving into his abandoned ancestral home, Chase struggles to connect with his niece and nephew.

4) The Writing!

Writers Tim Daniel and Michael Moreci examine Chase’s struggle with self-identity as he visits his mentally disturbed mother in an asylum. With such a relatable character, readers are able to understand why Chase fails at adulthood and sticking to his sobriety. Letterer Jim Campbell foreshadows an important clue about Reese’s mindset; there’s something inside her talking for her.

3) The Artwork!

The artwork by Joshua Hixson captures so much sadness and warmth when Zach enters the room. Zach remains silent and shy because he’s traumatized by the hauntings he has previously seen. Zach could be awkward because he has difficult time reaching out to others, especially to his own family.

2) The Colors!

Colorist Jordan Boyd uses purple and black tones to heighten the gripping suspense. In a highly suspenseful sequence, the panels capture an eerie and claustrophobic vibe as Chase slowly makes his way to the attic.

1) A Phenomenal Read!

Horror fans will absolutely love just about every page of The Plot #4. I have been hooked with The Plot series since the first issue!
