don't look back, don't

Gravitas Ventures and Kamikaze Dogfight present the irresistibly enraging supernatural thriller, Don’t Look Back, starring Kourtney Bell and Amanda Grace Benitez. Writer/director Jeffrey Reddick messes with the audience by expertly shifting between emotional drama and nail-biting suspense.

Caitlin Kramer (Kourtney Bell) is a timid woman overcoming a tragic past. Caitlin becomes involved with several people who witness a man fatally assaulted. When the witnesses start dying mysteriously, she attempts to unearth if they are being targeted by a killer, or something far more insidious.

Here are 5 reasons why you should see Don’t Look Back:

5) Kourtney Bell!

As Caitlin Kramer, Kourtney Bell does a great job serving as the audience’s moral compass. In the narrative, Caitlin learns that in life’s ironic cruelty, actions have consequences. With such an engaging character arc, Bell project’s Caitlin’s inner thoughts and struggles about whether or not she is a good person who did a bad thing.

4) Amanda Grace Benitez!

Amanda Grace Benitez is such a charismatic presence as Maria Sanchez. Benitez carries the dramatic weight alongside Bell, while adding a somber dimension to her character. Right on the spot, Benitez portrays personality and mood as Maria.

3) Jeremy Holm!

Jeremy Holm adds layers to his role as Detective Boyd. Boyd’s not really a bad cop, but his actions are suspicious. Other critics may not feel this way, but I’m personally describing Boyd’s actions as racist because of the “blue lives” climate we’re in. Holm does portray Boyd with an exasperated vibe as the detective attempts to solve the unsolvable.

2) The Direction!

Writer/director Jeffrey Reddick does a fantastic job juggling between the supernatural elements and the emotional reality of the premise. In his director’s vision, Reddick allows the audience to decide for themselves if the narrative is grounded in reality or falls under the supernatural. Reddick planted enough seeds that go along with either side of the argument.

1) A Solid Thriller!

Don’t Look Back is a suspenseful revenge drama, a supernatural thriller, and a whodunit mystery. There’s a lot going on with this solid thriller that audiences will definitely be intrigued by.

Don’t Look Back arrives in select theaters and On Demand on October 16, 2020.
