Fright Night: Peter Vincent Chronicles #0. Fright Night: Peter Vincent Chronicles, Fright Night

Tom Holland’s Terror Time continues the popular cult classic with an all-new terrifying adventure in Fright Night: The Peter Vincent Chronicles #0! This fun and clever adaptation delivers the horror goods, with its scary outbursts, neck-biting, and our favorite crucifix-wielding hero.

As we previously mentioned, Fright Night: The Peter Vincent Chronicles is a 24-page original comic book, based on a story by Tom Holland. The zero issue will focus on the adventures of Peter Vincent (originally played by Roddy McDowall). The story takes place immediately after the events of the first film, and serves as a bridge into future Fright Night comic books.

5) What Happened Before…

Writer/director Tom Holland joins Ben Meares and Riley Schmitz in the continuation of his horror classic. The story takes place after Charley Brewster and Fight Night host Peter Vincent defeated the vampire Jerry Dandrige. In order to become a real-life vampire hunter, Peter Vincent had to put down Edward “Evil Ed” Thompson.

4) A Tribute To Roddy McDowall!

Writer Ben Meares focuses the narrative on the mid-life crisis that Peter Vincent is dealing with. Peter Vincent feels like his professional career has taken a downward spiral. And yet, even in his old age, Vincent felt young and strong after taking down his adversaries. Christian Francis’ lettering emphasizes Vincent’s self-loathing in his internal monologue.

3) The Artwork!

Artist Riley Schmitz adds a clever easter egg, mentioning Child’s Play, another of Holland’s film. My favorite part of the horror story is when the vampires attack the television set of Fright Night. In Schmitz’s illustrations, the vampire faces are elongated and the nails are hideously extended.

2) The Colors!

The opening pages feature a VHS stylized and vibrant ‘80s look as Vincent hosts an episode of Fright Night. Because this is a vampire thriller, shades of red are hinted at throughout the narrative.

1) Welcome To Fright Night…For Real!

Horror fans of the original will definitely enjoy the return of their favorite vampire hunter in Fright Night: The Peter Vincent Chronicles #0! I can’t wait to see what awaits Peter Vincent with that surprising twist!
