USA Network continues the highly anticipated Suits spinoff series, Pearson, starring Gina Torres and Morgan Specter, with Episode 2: The Superintendent. After leaving her New York firm behind, former lawyerJessica Pearson (Torres) jumps into the Chicago world of politics.
In the morning, Lillian pays a visit to Jessica at her apartment. Lillian recognizes her dead neighbor in the crime scene photos.
Jessica’s cousin, Angela (Chantel Riley), is still not cool with her. Even though Jessica has brought eggs and steak to her kids, Angela thinks it’s just charity. Angela just wants Jessica to show up and be there.
Derrick (Eli Goree) and Mayor Bobby Golec (Specter) are having trouble answering questions from the press. They all want to know why a disgraced lawyer from New York is working for the Mayor. Unfortunately, the Mayor looks incompetent as he struggles to find the right answer.
Nick (Simon Kassianides) rescues Jessica from a swarm of reporters. Following Pat McGann (Wayne Duvall)’s orders, he follows Jessica and drives towards her family’s home. While investigating her, Jessica also wants Nick to be her driver.
The Press Secretary is trying to stop the tweet from going viral. Derrick wants Yoli to delete her tweet because she works for City Hall. When Yooli opposes him and decides not to, that’s when Derrick fires her.
Lilian then warns Jessica about what is going on in her neighborhood. Police officers are lining up to take sick days, as a form of strike. The “blue wave” will continue until the demands of the the police superintendent are met and Jessica is fired.
Jessica meets with the police superintendent and realizes this was all a ploy about money. This wasn’t about her and he lawsuit. Even after Jessica gets the contract signed, Keri still has problems giving he credit.
Standing in front of a podium, Jessica makes herself known to the press and answers their questions. At that moment, the Mayor realizes Jessica was the one who leaked herself before. Just when the Mayor turns down Keri, Jessica decides to hire Yoli Castillo (Isabel Arraiza) as her assistant.
While arguing with her cousin, Jessica doesn’t realize someone is taking pictures of her.
Pearson continues Wednesdays 10pm on USA Network.
